Southern Italy
Most travelers to Italy don't venture south of Rome. Which is a shame for them but great for us. The southern part of Italy is a great place for visitors to get a more authentic taste of Italian culture. The toe and heel of Italy’s boot are fertile and wide; this is Italy’s granary and vegetable patch, with quaint houses and the masserie, old fortified farms, some of which have been converted into comfortable hotels.
